Speaking to the LSHPRM
"Get your books here! Come get your books here!"
When I look at that photo, that's what I think. But, actually, it's a picture my good friend Greg Kleinpeter took of me (along with ) during a presentation I gave to the Louisiana Society for Hospital Public Relations and Marketing group last Thursday.
The presentation was entitled Healthcare 2.0: Understanding and utilizing conversational media in hospital marketing and public relations.
While participants primarily included Louisiana area hospital marketing and PR professionals, as the name implies, members of an advertising agency which handles marketing campaigns for one of the hospitals were there also.
My goal more than anything was to open a window of understanding to what conversational media is all about. Not only did we discuss its impact where marketing was concerned, but we attempted to wrap a definition around it, show how social media is being used in the healthcare industry and review in some detail basic tools of the trade. We concluded the seminar focusing on how to create a conversational media marketing/pr strategy.
I want to express my appreciation to the Louisiana Hospital Association for extending the invitation, and especially to Michelle Clement, the association's Director of Communications and Public Relations. I hope they found it to be worth the time and investment.
PS: To the attendees I promise to have my PowerPoint slide deck up for review soon as well as a downloadable version.
PSS: Anyone want to take a guess at which two books I'm holding in my hands? Might be something in it for the first one who guesses correctly. :-)
Thanks, Paul.
I enjoyed the "conversation" and finding those "plain english" snippets by the Common Craft Show.
